Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0 SEC) defeated Bowling Green 26-20 on Saturday night, disappointing the Aggie fan base compared to the team’s performance against the Florida Gators in week 3.
However, Bowling Green is by far one of the country’s top Group of Five Teams after nearly defeating a top-ten-ranked Penn State team on the road to open the season. Still, the Aggies only have themselves to blame for mistakes on both sides of the ball that nearly led to an upset loss.
In quarterback Marcel Reed’s second career start, the redshirt freshman showed some improvement in the passing game while adding 91 yards on the ground. Still, he only completed 1-8 or eight yards under pressure due to leaky play from the offensive line throughout the night.
However, a win is a win, as head coach Mike Elko and his team will focus on Arkansas this weekend.
Around the rest of the SEC, Tennessee looks like the top team in the conference, shutting down Oklahoma on the road. In contrast, the Missouri Tigers looked beatable after defeating Vanderbilt at home in overtime.
After staying pat in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll, Texas A&M has risen to No. 24 in the newest AP Top 25 Poll.
