Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Jimbo Fisher this season.
Devin Price is entering his redshirt sophomore season at the wide receiver position for Texas A&M with the chance to earn more playing time in his third season, returning to a somewhat crowded wide receiver rotation. Price is the son of current Texas A&M Defensive ends coach Terry Price, where the younger price attended and played football at A&M Consolidated High School. During his time at A&M Consolidated, Price accumulated 81 receptions for 1,552 yards and 22 touchdowns, with an impressive 19.2 yards per reception average from his 2017 sophomore to 2029 senior season.
Price committed to Texas A&M almost immediately after his unofficial visit on July 26th, 2019, committing one day later on July 27th. In his first season with the Aggies, Price appeared in five games, but did not contribute statistically, and decided to redshirt for the rest of the year. During the 2021 season, Price appeared in three games, recording 1 reception for 7 yards against New Mexico, completing his contributions for the rest of the season.

Depth Chart Overview
Devin Price is currently projected as the backup X wide receiver in Texas A&M’s pro-style offense, led by head coach Jimbo Fisher, and offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey.
Price is presently listed behind Noah Thomas (Freshman), Evan Stewart (Freshman), and Jalen Preston (Redshirt Senior), who will be battling for the starting X position during fall camp. From a scouting perspective, Devin Price is built well for the position, listed at 6-3, 205lbs, has the strength and enough athleticism to play at the X position, and excels in 1 on 1 situations in the red zone. He displays quick feet, and is an intelligent and efficient route runner, with great vision in the open field.
Bottom line, Price knows how to get open, adjusts to the ball very well at the catch point, and is a quarterback’s best friend in zone coverage. Even though he isn’t the greatest athlete compared to some of the other receivers on the depth chart, Devin Price has every other trait to excel at the X position in the future and will have a chance to compete for snaps this coming season.
