Yulkeith Brown is entering his sophomore season at the wide receiver position for Texas A&M. He is looking to enhance his role on the depth chart after being seldom used during his true freshman season. as one of the better athletes coming out of the 2021 recruiting class, Brown was ranked as a top 50 player in Florida, and played his high school football at Miami Central in Miami Florida alongside running back, and current Aggie teammate, Amari Daniels. Brown played at the wide receiver, running back, and defensive back positions, while also returning kick-offs on special teams, and running track in the football off-season. From his sophomore to senior season, Brown recorded 650 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in the air, while amassing 134 total carries for 1,514 yards and 19 touchdowns, with a career average of 11.3 yards per carry. Brown also helped Miami Central win the Florida 6A State Championship during the 2020 season, and was named MVP of the Florida-Georiga All-Star Game.
In need of more dynamic playmakers, Jimbo Fisher took advantage of his Florida-based recruiting roots, offering Brown on Jan. 21, 2020, and his commitment to the program coming 9 months later on October 31, 2020. During his first season with the Aggies, Brown appeared in 5 games on offense, accounting for 52 rushing yards on two attempts as a reserve, and returning one kick for 21 yards on special teams.

Depth Chart Overview
Yulkeith Brown is currently projected as a reserve/backup wide receiver in Texas A&M’s pro-style offense, led by head coach, Jimbo Fisher, and offensive coordinator, Darrell Dickey. At present time, Brown is listed on the slot receiver depth chart behind the primary backup, Moose Muhammad (Sophomore), and starter at the position, Ainias Smith (Senior).
From a scouting perspective, Brown is not the biggest wide receiver at 5-10, 175lbs, but makes up for it with his natural athleticism, speed, quickness, toughness, and impressive balance and body control displayed in his routes. Once he is in the open field, he has the ability to burn a corner going deep or trip up a defender with his lighting quick change of direction ability on slants or comebacks.
At the catch point, Brown’s size deficiency rarely comes into play, showing great ball tracking skills, and adjusts well utilizing his athleticism to clear enough space to make the catch. Overall, Yukeith Brown may be one more year away from securing a starting spot in the wide receiver rotation for the Aggies until Ainias Smith departs for the NFL, but will have the opportunity to become the starting kick returner, taking over for Devon Achane who will avoid added wear and tear as the starting running back for the 2022 season.
