Texas A&M offensive lineman TJ Shanahan suspended after arrest

Backup offensive lineman TJ Shanahan has been suspended immediately from the Texas A&M football team

Over the weekend, post the Texas A&M win over McNeese State, everyone wanted to do a little bit of celebrating. Unfortunately, for the football team, one of their reserve offensive linemen was arrested on a handful of charges

On Saturday redshirt freshman TJ Shanahan was hit with two charges when out at Bryan-College Station’s famous Northgate which is located across the campus. The 20-year-old was taken in by the police for failing to identify and a minor in possession of alcohol.

Head coach Mike Elko confirmed during his Monday press conference that Shanahan has been suspended

“We handled that internally, he was suspended immediately…Now it’s under internal review and we’ll kind of go from there on that one.”

As we receive more information, we’ll update you on his status with the charges.
