Texas A&M’s transfer portal success continued on Monday morning. The Aggies received an early Christmas gift when Georgia EDGE Samuel M’Pemba announced his commitment to the program after redshirting during the 2024 season.
A former top-100-ranked recruit in the 2023 class, M’Pemba’s future with Georgia became murky after recording just six tackles in 11 appearances during his 2023 freshman season, receiving his redshirt option that led to talented pass rusher entering the portal.
With size, speed, and obvious potential, M’Pemba might look like a project to some, but paired with former Pitt/Colorado Edge Dayon Hayes, Coach Mike Elko, and his defensive staff have to feel good about the team’s defensive line depth heading into the 2025 season.
So far, Texas A&M has landed eight players from the transfer portal, led by former Texas Tech and five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson. At the same time, several weekend visitors, including M’Pemba, could announce their commitments in the coming days.
