Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class could soon see its first five-star prospect commit to the program. Standout safety Bralan Womack has placed the Aggies in the top four program list, joining Ohio State, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Any time news regarding a highly ranked defensive prospect comes out, it’s never a surprise if the Aggies are involved, especially in the secondary. Coach Mike Elko’s background in developing cornerbacks and safeties, as current star CB Will Lee III, looks like a round NFL draft pick once he declares after the 2025 season.
Womack has been on the Aggies’ radar since Elko offered him last May, while the incoming senior visited College Station during Texas A&M’s 38-23 comeback win over LSU this season.
On the field, Womack is an elite athlete and one of the best returners in the country. Named Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year, Womack helped lead Hartfield Academy to a 12-2 record and a second-straight MAIS Class 6A championship.
Womack recorded 39 tackles and eight interceptions on defense while adding 54 passes for 1,045 yards and 13 TD as a receiver on offense. Womack also netted a kick return and punt return touchdown.
In an interview with Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman, Womack had high praise for Mike Elko’s position knowledge:
“He’s a safeties coach at head coach and he’s able to relate to you.”
According to 247Sports, Womack is currently positioned as the 24th-ranked prospect, the second-ranked safety in the class, and the second-ranked player in Mississippi.
