Texas A&M HC Mike Elko squashes Missouri WR Theo Wease’s blanket rumor

The Will Lee, Theo Wease blanket nonsense didn’t come from Texas A&M acoording to Mike Elko

Texas A&M (5-1, 3-0 SEC) has remained atop the SEC standings after demolishing the 9th-ranked Missouri Tigers 41-10 on Saturday afternoon. But before the game even began, a little Friday night drama concerning one of Missouri’s starting wide receivers became viral.

Less than 24 hours before kickoff, senior Tiger wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. was delivered a Texas A&M embroidered blanket with a note that featured a picture of Texas A&M junior cornerback Will Lee III, nicknamed “The Blanket,” and stated, “Get used to this blanket…” it will be real tomorrow…”

Lee immediately denied delivering the blanket, and the situation only got more ridiculous. Taking full advantage of the gesture, Wease walked out to the field just an hour before the 11:00 a.m. start time, wearing the blanket and sporting an intimidating look.

From an entertainment standpoint, bravo, but after Texas A&M’s sent the Tigers packing, head coach Mike Elko denied sending the item during his post-game press conference, instead telling reporters to ask Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz about it.

“My suggestion would be to ask Eli (Drinkwitz) where that came from.”

Outside of a 59-yard touchdown reception due to broken coverage, Will Lee held Wease in check, allowing just one catch for 13 yards outside of the touchdown.
