As a prospect, Owens is the No.1 ranked running back in the state of Texas, and the No.3 ranked player in the country in the 2023 class and is entering his senior season at El Campo in El Campo, Texas. Owens sports a 5-11, 190lb frame and possesses top-level speed in the open field, with elite cutting ability, short-area suddenness, and great burst and acceleration when reaching that second gear of speed. During his 2021 junior season, Owens was named Texas District 12-4A D-I Overall MVP Class 4A Co-Offensive Player of the Year by the Texas Sportswriters Association. Owens also participates in Track and Field in the long jump, 4X100, and the 4X200.
