The 2024 college football season is less than two months away, and the excitement is palpable ahead of Mike Elko’s inaugural campaign, which has Aggie fans everywhere looking toward the future after six subpar years under Jimbo Fisher.
With everything in place from a roster standpoint to succeed in his first season, Elko has already accomplished his first feat. The Aggies have sold out the 2024 season-ticket allotment at Kyle Field, and a sea of Maroon & White will fill the stadium every home weekend.
Finishing the 2023 season with a 6-1 record at home, the lone loss to Alabama was by far the most frustrating defeat on the year outside of Texas A&M’s lopsided 48-33 loss at Miami. The secondary, which struggled mightily in both contests, exposed the defense for the remainder of the year.
After landing nearly 30 players from the transfer portal, including more than five veterans in the secondary, expect significant improvement for one of the more talented defenses in the SEC.
The #12thMan has done it again.
