So far this offseason, five Texas A&M players have declared for the NFL draft, including defensive linemen Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner, while wide receiver Jahdae Walker and tight end Tre Watson followed suit last weekend.
On Tuesday, experienced cornerback Jaydon Hill became another Texas A&M departure after just one season with the program. The former Florida defensive back had transferred last season to conclude his college career with the Aggies, and he has now announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
Hill’s 2024 season was shaky compared to the rest of Texas A&M’s starting cornerback rotation, as he struggled in the slot. However, due to his impressive speed, the grad student was stellar as a pass rusher, earning a 92.4 pass-rush grade per Pro Football Focus.
Hill’s NFL future is unknown, but the need for experienced slot cornerbacks will likely vault Hill as a priority free agent if he isn’t drafted. I could easily see him as a 6th or 7th-round pick.
Hill ended his final collegiate season with 26 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and two pass deflections.
Blessed is an understatement 🙏🏽 let’s finish what we started.. ⏳ pic.twitter.com/1Pwcwrt3mC
