Texas A&M Basketball is ranked #24 in the newest AP Top 25 poll

The 2022 Texas A&M Basketball team has finally achieved a goal that has been hindering them since head coach Buzz Williams began his rebuild nearly four seasons ago, being ranking in the AP Top 25 for the first time under Williams who is now in his fourth season with the program.

So far this season, the Aggies are 2-0 after defeating Louisiana Monroe 87-54, and Abeline Christian 77-58. On Monday, The AP released their brand new Top 25 rankings, and low and behold, Texas A&M finally found itself positioned at #24 as they head to the Myrtle Beach Invitational to take on the Murray State Racers on Thursday afternoon.

In what looks to be Buzz’s most talented team yet, sophomore point guard Wade Taylor IV leads the team with 19.5 points per game, while shooting 71.4 percent from the field. The biggest difference between this year’s group compared to last season’s? Depth at nearly every position, especially inside, as Michigan State transfer Julius Marble, provides consistent forward Henry Coleman III help off the bench, while Witchita State transfer guard Dexter Dennis has already taken a leadership role while providing a nice mix of offensive and defensive output through the first two games.

Make sure to watch the Aggies as they take on Murray State in the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Thursday at 3:00 PM Central.
