Texas A&M Basketball is headed to Disney World!

Texas A&M will officially participate in the upcoming ESPN Events Intuitional this November at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

In an official release from Texas A&M Athletics, the Aggies are set to participate in the ESPN Events Invitational at Walt Disney World slated for the 2023 Thanksgiving weekend, which will feature a host of high-level competition.

Joining the Aggies, who will most likely be ranked in the Top 25 before the start of the tournament includes Boise State, Butler, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Penn State, VCU, and Virginia Tech.

Any College Basketball fan reading this probably noted that out of the seven teams listed, six of them, including the Final Four Participant Florida Atlantic Owls, made the 2023 NCAA Tournament, while the Aggies, who fell to Penn State in the opening round of the Tournament in blow out fashion could have a shot at revenge if the two teams happen to meet. Clint Overby, who serves as the Vice President for Event Events, provided the following message after the announcement:

“With six returning NCAA Tournament teams, the ESPN Events Invitational figures to be one of the strongest early-season tournaments in the country. We look forward to hosting all eight teams and their fans at Walt Disney World Resort this Thanksgiving.”

A total of twelve games will be played by the eight-team field at the State Farm Field House on Thursday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 26. Every team will play one game per day, while the two teams that reach an undefeated mark will make in the championship matchup on Sunday.

Historically, this will be the 17th year of the tournament and will be just one of 10 college basketball events on the ESPN Events schedule of the 32 other ongoing competitions. For A&M, this is not only a fantastic opportunity to prove their worth among some of the programs in the country but add to their NCAA Tournament resume early.
