Texas A&M basketball is officially running it back for the 2023-24 season! Buzz Williams’ program got a dose of good news Wednesday afternoon after guard Tyrece “Boots” Radford announced that he will return for his third season with the Maroon and White.
Radford is coming off a 2022-23 season in which he logged career-highs in scoring (13.3 PPG), assists (2.4 APG), and free-throw percentage (79.6%). The Aggies shooting guard was named to the All-SEC second team while starting in all 34 games for A&M last year.
Following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, Radford hinted that he could possibly return for one last ride with the Maroon and White. The Aggie playmaker made his decision official with an announcement across his social media channels:

Fellow backcourt teammate, and All-SEC guard Wade Taylor IV, expressed his excitement for Radford’s return to College Station:

Radford played a huge role in Texas A&M’s superb 2022-23 season in which they went 25-10 (15-3 SEC) en route to reaching their second consecutive conference championship game. The Aggies went on to earn the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, marking their return to the big dance for the first time since 2018.
Texas A&M was already a popular consensus pick in a handful of way-too-early top 25 projected rankings before Radford’s decision to return. Now with him back in the fold, it’s not far-fetched to claim that the Aggies will boast one of the best backcourts in all of the college hoops landscape, which is headlined by not one, but now two All-SEC selections.
