Texas A&M Softball (19-11) is one of the least experienced teams in the SEC and also has one of the tougher schedules in the nation. They have already played three of the top five teams and will host No. 3 Tennessee for a three-game series at the end of the week.
On paper, it looked like they were headed for a “rebuilding” season under first-year coach Trisha Ford. That has not been the case and even though their youth does show up from time to time they are a team full of heart and skill that never feels they are out of a game.
To this point, they are 4-5 in SEC play winning 2 out of the 3 series in league play where all three teams are ranked in the Top 15. Who knows where they will be ranked in the next few weeks, but Coach Ford expects high energy and accountability. Her team is starting to take on those traits and it’s starting to pay dividends.
