Texas A&M baseball drops out of D1Baseball rankings

After a slight bump in the polls last week, the Aggie fall out of the top 25 following three-game sweep at the of Tennessee

The Aggies have started out SEC play at the bottom of the barrel. A team that was once ranked No. 5 in the preseason has officially been removed from the top 25 rankings in a majority if not all of the major polls.

Texas A&M has been averaging six or seven runs a game over the last six games. One would think that should translate to at least a .500 record, but over that same time, their opponents have averaged almost nine runs a game. So even leaving out the 0-9 loss in the opening game of SEC play to LSU, the Aggies are still 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the last five SEC games.

I’m not surprised even a little bit that the Aggies have been removed from the top 25 rankings especially after getting swept by Tennessee who entered into the weekend 0-3 in SEC play. Even with the games being played pretty close in the final two games, the Vols outscored the Aggies 27 – 20 over the three games series to improve to 3-3 in league play while dropping Texas A&M to 1-5.
