Texans WR Stefon Diggs learns challenges of Pilates with funny video

Houston Texans receiver Stefon Diggs took a tumble while reaching for the skies during a Pilates workout this past week.

If you don’t succeed, the best thing to do is try again. Maybe new Houston Texans receiver Stefon Diggs will take that to heart the next time he tries to do Pilates.

Diggs, a four-time Pro Bowler an former All-Pro target for the Buffalo Bills, avoided serious injury after a video surfaced of him trying to work a few reps on a pilates machine at the gym. Diggs lost his balance while coming up on a rep with former teammate Leonard Fournette and eventually took a tumble.

Once he realized everything was fine, he laughed off the incident in the video while Fournette asked someone off-screen, “Please tell me you were recording.” They were, and here’s the video that now has gone viral with over 25,000 views.

Houston needs Diggs to avoid injury since he’s only on a one-year contract after the franchise elected to void the final three years of his deal initially signed in Buffalo. While giving up a future second-round pick, it’s enough of an investment to show the Texans’ willingness to go all-in after winning the AFC South behind Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud.

While Stroud has two exceptional receivers in Nico Collins and Tank Dell, plus a security blanket at tight end in Dalton Schultz, Diggs’ veteran presence provides stability. So does his consistency after six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Vikings and Bills.

Even if his numbers decrease in Houston, Diggs has been a mainstay in atop the NFL rankings in recieving over the past four years. During his time with the Bills, he led the NFL with 445 receptions while also totaling 37 touchdowns.

Diggs, who turns 31 this season, has already built a solid rapport with Collins, Dell and Stroud during OTAs and believes each pass-catcher will “feed off each other.”

That’s DeMeco Ryans’ vision for the Texans’ offense when the team returns to practice on July 18, though maybe Pilates isn’t on the agenda for anyone.
