Texans WR Chris Moore says coach David Culley is very vocal during games

Houston Texans receiver Chris Moore says that first-year coach David Culley is very vocal during games.

There was some mystery as to what David Culley would be like in his first game as the Houston Texans’ coach.

Albeit the Aug. 14 encounter with the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, a 26-7 win, was the first preseason game on the schedule, it was the first time Culley got to be in charge of an entire NFL sideline.

According to receiver Chris Moore, Culley was vocal and noticeable throughout the entire game.

“That’s one thing about Coach Culley, you can always hear him,” Moore said. “No matter where he at on the field, you hear him screaming, giving coaching pointers always. So, I already knew, when he was out there, he was going to bring that same energy, and that’s what he did during the game.”

Moore knows Culley from their time together with the Baltimore Ravens as Culley was the receivers coach and passing game coordinator from 2019-20. Culley’s message of putting the team first in Baltimore was one of the reasons why Moore chose to follow him to Houston.

Said Moore: “That’s something he’s told us in the receiving room at Baltimore. It was just about us coming in here and helping the team get better. So, I knew if I travelled with him and came over here that he was still going to have that same mindset and that was still going to be his main motto coming here, so, I was just excited to join him in that process.”

The process continues as the Texans prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for their second of three preseason games. There is no doubt Culley’s voice will once again be heard all over the field throughout the 60-minute exhibition contest.
