The Houston Texans were unable to get off of their losing streak when they met up with the equally hard luck Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium.
Both teams were on seven-game losing streaks, and technically, both left Week 9 without a seven-game losing streak. However, the Dolphins came away with the 17-9 win, and the Texans now have an eight-game losing skid.
With the Texans nearing the brink of playoff elimination, the question on the minds of Houston sports fans is where they will end up in the 2022 NFL draft order.
According to Tankathon.com, the Texans are slated to pick No. 2 overall in April’s draft. The only team that is free and clear to take the No. 1 overall spot is the Detroit Lions, who are still winless on the year, just a game ahead of the Texans’ 1-7 mark.
The Lions and the Texans are the only teams with a win or fewer in the NFL through nine weeks.
The Jacksonville Jaguars got a surprising win over the Buffalo Bills to improve to 2-6 on the year, which now puts the Texans in the bottom of the AFC South. Houston and Jacksonville don’t meet again until Dec. 19 at TIAA Bank Field. Houston already won the first matchup 37-21 in Week 1 at NRG Stadium.
