The Houston Texans have waived offensive tackle Roderick Johnson.
The 25-year-old had been placed on the COVID-19 reserve and did not play in the Aug. 14 preseason opener at the Green Bay Packers. On Wednesday, he was activated off the COVID-19 reserve.
Johnson had been with the Texans since training camp of the 2018 season. The 6-6, 306-pound tackle worked his way onto the active roster over the next three seasons, playing in 29 games and starting in six of them.
The Texans also have tackle Marcus Cannon, who was with the New England Patriots from 2011-20, on the physically unable to perform list as he worked his way back from knee surgery.
