Texans waive former Ravens WR Diontae Johnson ahead of playoff game vs. Chiefs

Houston Texans waive former Baltimore Ravens WR Diontae Johnson

The Houston Texans are heading to Kansas City to face the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round, and they’ll do so without Diontae Johnson after waiving the former Ravens wide receiver.

Playing on his fifth team in the last calendar year, Johnson will be a free agent if he clears waivers. He was entering a key free agency period in 2025 before squandering several opportunities.

Claimed off waivers from Baltimore two days before the Christmas matchup against the Ravens, Johnson played 38 offensive snaps for the Texans in the Week 18 regular-season finale (22) and last Saturday’s wild-card playoff win over the Chargers (16).

Johnson will finish his Texans tenure with three catches for 24 yards.
