The Houston Texans take on the Seattle Seahawks Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time at NRG Stadium. For the 4-8 Seahawks, it is a chance to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. For the 2-10 Texans, it is another game that could lead to their further rise towards the No. 1 seed overall, pending the Detroit Lions can ever win another game.
Russell Wilson missing three games and Geno Smith having to play in his absence may have been one of the contributing factors to the Seahawks not having a good record at this point. Even so, Wilson has a 14-4 touchdown to interception ratio. Although he has been careful with the football, he has not been productive with the football. Whether that is due to lack weapons is an issue the Seattle front office will have to evaluate in the offseason.
Houston may go with rookie quarterback Davis Mills as starter Tyrod Taylor has ligament damage in his left wrist. Either way, the Texans will probably get the same dismal production at quarterback.
How do oddsmakers see the game going?
According to Tipico, the Texans have the fifth-worst odds of the week at -7.5. The Chicago Bears have the worst odds of Week 14 as they are 11.5-point underdogs to the Green Bay Packers.
As far as the over/under is concerned, oddsmakers have the game at 41.5, tied with the Falcons-Panthers for the lowest of the week. If the Seahawks were to beat Houston 34-7, that would still count as the under, yet be right on track with how the Texans’ games have gone this year.
