The Houston Texans are looking to snap their six-game winning streak, and they may have a chance to do it as Week 8 will have them at home instead of on the road.
The 1-6 Texans don’t have a favorable draw as they host the Los Angeles Rams, who are looking to get theirs after their NFC West rivals, the Arizona Cardinals, were able to move to 7-0 with a win over Houston last week. The Rams would like to get to 7-1 to keep pace with the Cardinals and try to catch them later on in the season to overtake them for the division lead.
There is a slim chance that the Texans could have Tyrod Taylor under center against the Rams. The former Pro Bowler has come off of injured reserve and is designated to return. Coach David Culley said that rookie Davis Mills will continue to get the reps, but they are working Taylor back into practice.
Houston is in a sellers mode as they are in the process of dealing running back Mark Ingram back to the New Orleans Saints, where it all started for the Pro Bowl running back. The trade deadline is Nov. 2, and another loss could make the Texans even more determined to gut the roster and try to get as many draft picks as possible to successfully rebuild in 2022.
