The Houston Texans take on the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indianapolis can make a lot of headway towards qualifying for the playoffs if they can pick up a quick divisional win over the Texans. It will also push the Colts to 10-4.
For Houston, the game is all about pride and respect. Do they go out and lie down to the Colts just because they are looking to expedite a disastrous, disappointing season, or do they share some of their misery with Indianapolis and complication their path the playoffs?
According to BetMGM, the Colts are favored by -7.5 points over the Texans, which represents the seventh-highest odds for Week 15. Only the Los Angeles Rams (-17.0), Pittsburgh Steelers (-14.5), Baltimore Ravens (-12.5), Tennessee Titans (-10.0), Buffalo Bills (-8.5), and Green Bay Packers (-8.5) have higher odds than the Colts in the Week 15 rematch against the Texans.
The point total for the game is 50.5, which represents the fourth-highest point total of Week 15. Only the Chiefs-Saints (52.5), Lions-Titans (51.5), and Panthers-Packers (51.5) have higher point totals.
If the odds-makers consider the point total to be 50.5, it could mean the Colts win big. Consider the last time the two clubs met in Week 13 the point total was 46. If the Colts add another touchdown to a similar 26-20 score, then that could be how the game gets to the over.
Houston is getting receiver Brandin Cooks and running back David Johnson back. However, as long as Houston doesn’t have receiver Will Fuller, the Texans’ ability to generate points and stay engaged in shootouts will be compromised.
