Texans to sign former Ravens receiver Chris Moore

The Houston Texans have signed former Baltimore Ravens receiver Chris Moore.

The Houston Texans are putting an emphasis on bolstering their special teams through the free agency process.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans have agreed to a one-year contract with former Baltimore Ravens receiver Chris Moore. The deal is worth up to $2 million.

Moore, who turns 28 on June 26, was a fourth-round selection for the Ravens in the 2016 NFL draft. The former Cincinnati Bearcat caught 47 passes for 511 yards and four touchdowns in his 61 games for Baltimore, five of which he started.

The 6-1, 200-pound wideout also has a proficiency as a returner. During his four seasons with the Ravens, Moore averaged 23.5 yards per kickoff. Moore also played 931 special teams snaps for the Ravens compared to 1,178 snaps on offense.

The Texans signed receiver Andre Roberts, formerly of the Buffalo Bills. With the addition of Moore, the Texans appear to have their top two returners lined up for special teams, and also added a decent special teamer.
