Texans still on target for No. 3 overall pick in 2022 NFL draft

The Houston Texans are still on track to finish with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

The Houston Texans neither lost nor gained ground in the 2022 NFL draft following their loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14.

According to Tankathon, the Texans, who fell 33-13 to Seattle at NRG Stadium Sunday, are still on track to have the No. 3 overall pick in April’s draft held in Las Vegas.

The Detroit Lions at 1-11-1 are on pace for the No. 1 overall pick. The equally 2-11 Jacksonville Jaguars are No. 2, and the Texans’ tiebreaker over them in Week 1 is partly why.

Week 15 could see a significant shakeup in the Texans’ draft positioning as they close out their season series with the Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field. A win would give Houston a series sweep, and they would need Jacksonville to finish with a better overall record than them to leap them in draft order.

Neither Jacksonville nor Houston are going to get the No. 1 overall pick if the Lions don’t start winning games.

A draft prospect Houston could possibly get with a top-3 pick would be Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
