Texans re-sign CB Cornell Armstrong to 1-year contract

The Houston Texans are re-signing cornerback Cornell Armstrong to a 1-year contract per his agent Brett Tessler.

The Houston Texans continue to make moves to keep reliable players in place amid an offseason of upheaval.

According to Brett Tessler, the Texans are re-signing his client, cornerback Cornell Armstrong to a one-year contract.

The one-year deal is worth $1.25 million, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. The signing bonus on the contract is $100,000.

Signing Armstrong to his new contract is cheaper than the $2.133 million tender the Texans would have had to apply to the 6-0, 185-pound cornerback from Southern Mississippi.

Armstrong has been with the Texans since 2019. The Miami Dolphins originally drafted him in Round 6 of the 2018 draft. In 15 career games with Houston, Armstrong has provided four combined tackles. His primary usage is on special teams where he has played 237 snaps compared to 54 on defense.
