The Cincinnati Bengals have yet another coach earning interest from outside teams.
The Houston Texans have requested permission to interview wide receivers coach Troy Walters for their open offensive coordinator job, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS.
Walters joined the Bengals in 2020 as an assistant before taking over the role in 2021. He’s a fast-riser, featured in the accelerator program and has had a role in helping install the team’s very successful red zone game planning.
Walters joins quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher, who got looks as an offensive coordinator before the Bengals swooped in and extended him. Offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has received looks as a head coach this cycle, as has defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
