Texans possess the 6th-highest capital in 2022 NFL draft

The Houston Texans have the sixth-highest capital heading into the 2022 NFL draft.

The Houston Texans are in a favorable position to accelerate the completion of their rebuild under general manager Nick Caserio.

According to Tim Weaver from the Seahawks Wire, the Texans have the sixth-highest capital going into the 2022 NFL draft.

With selections in Round 1 (No. 3 overall), Round 2 (No. 37 overall), Round 3 (Nos. 68, 80 overall), Round 4 (No. 135 overall), Round 6 (Nos. 181, 204, 206 overall), the Texans have a draft capital value of 3,248.3, according to Draft Tek.

As the Texans get ready for the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis from March 1-7, Caserio wants targeted information from the assistant coaches as it relates to the prospects.

“I would say just philosophically we try to streamline as much as possible,” Caserio told Texans Radio’s Marc Vandermeer and John Harris on Feb. 23. “You don’t want to give them a full buffet of everything. Here you go. Here’s 60 players. Like, let’s get some information. Maybe they’ve recruited a player if the coaches were in college. Maybe they were part of their recruiting process. Maybe they have a little more information relative to their background.”

The targeted approach was evident in 2021 as the Texans consolidated their selections into five picks, which resulted in a decent draft class by the end of the season.
