The Houston Texans will be down a running back Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT when they take on the Chicago Bears in Week 14.

The team announced that running back David Johnson is being placed on the COVID-19 reserve. The former 2016 All-Pro will miss the game against the Bears.

The Texans have running back Duke Johnson to provide relief, as well as Buddy Howell and C.J. Prosise. If the club wanted to, it would be able to elevate undrafted free agent rookie Scottie Phillips to the active roster.

In his first game back from a stint on injured reserve due to a concussion, Johnson provided Houston with 10 carries with 44 yards and a touchdown in the 26-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
