Texans HC DeMeco Ryans on Ravens QB: Lamar Jackson is definitely the MVP

Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans says Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is definitely the MVP

Lamar Jackson has a fan in Texans head coach DeMeco Ryan. As the Houston head coach prepares to stop Baltimore’s star quarterback on Christmas Day, he’s saying everything to make Jackson comfortable.

Ahead of a Monday practice, Ryans said Jackson is “definitely the MVP” when describing the Ravens quarterback’s strong play this season.

“Lamar is playing some of the best football he’s played,” Ryans said. “He definitely jumps off the tape as the best player I’ve seen this year. Talk about the MVP? He’s definitely the MVP in my mind for what he’s doing not only run game-wise, but throwing the football, the accuracy, the decision-making. He’s playing unbelievable ball right now, so he’s going to be a really tough challenge for us this week.”

Jackson is 290 of 427 passing, for a career-high 3,787 yards (8.9 avg), 37 touchdowns, four interceptions, and a 67.9% completion rate, with a 75.5 QBR.

After losing eight of the past nine meetings, the Ravens beat the Steelers 34-17 on Saturday. Three touchdown passes from quarterback Lamar Jackson and two timely turnovers by the Baltimore defense helped the Ravens win. With two weeks remaining, the Ravens and Steelers are both 10-5.
