Texans DE Will Anderson posts a top-6 rookie pass-rush win rate in Week 13

The Houston Texans Will Anderson had two sacks in Week 13 and finished with one of the best pass-rush win rates for a rookie season 2006.

Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson is having himself a year.

The rookie pass rusher is coming off a two-sack performance in the Texans’ Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos and his five sacks this year rank second among all rookies.

While his production was good, the advanced metrics on Anderson’s performance were even better. Anderson had a 15.1 pass-rush win rate, according to Pro Football Focus, which is the sixth-best for a rookie since 2006.

Anderson’s pass-rush win rate is top-six among all defensive players, too. His 24 percent win rate ranks sixth in the league, per ESPN, behind stars like Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett, Brian Burns and Bradley Chubb.

While he’s just 13 weeks into his NFL career, Anderson hasn’t proven to be worth the price the Texans paid to move back up to No. 3 and grab the adept pass rusher. He’s a terror on the edge and a key youthful piece of Houston’s future.
