HOUSTON — The Houston Texans were without starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor during their 24-9 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Thursday night, at NRG Stadium.
Taylor was out due to a Grade 2 hamstring strain he sustained during a Week 2 loss against the Cleveland Browns. And according to first-year coach David Culley, there is no timetable on his return.
“We still do not have a timeline,” Culley said during Monday’s media availability. “When he first got injured, it was two to four weeks, and that’s all we know as of now.”
Prior to Taylor’s injury, the 32-year-old quarterback was on the verge of having his best season since 2017 with the Buffalo Bills.
In the two games played, Taylor threw for 416 yards and two touchdown, while competing 70.5 percent of his passes.
In his absence, rookie quarterback Davis Mills will continue starting in his place.
