The Houston Texans aren’t getting any breaks or suffering any setbacks when it comes to their air travel miles in 2020.
According to Barry Werner of the Touchdown Wire, the Texans will travel a total of 14,514 miles for their eight road games this season, which represents the 15th-fewest miles in the NFL.
Houston gets the AFC North and the NFC North this season, and their conference same place finishers are the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. Therefore, the Texans won’t travel any further west than Houston for their road games, which is a boon.
The Texans have to make trips to the Eastern Seaboard with stops in New England, Baltimore, and Jacksonville. Going to the Atlantic Ocean three times drives up the miles, which evens it all out in the middle.
Other AFC South foes are getting a break on air travel miles. The Tennessee Titans are traveling 8,994 miles, the sixth-fewest in the league. The Indianapolis Colts are at No. 5 with just 8,772 air travel miles in 2020.
