Texans announce re-signing QB Alex McGough to practice squad, other transactions

The Houston Texans have brought back third quarterback from training camp, Alex McGough, to the practice squad.

The Houston Texans announced the re-signing of quarterback Alex McGough.

The former Florida International quarterback was on the Texans’ roster during training camp. Coach Bill O’Brien hinted that the club would bring back McGough on the team’s practice squad at some point.

Houston also made official the signings of tight ends Pharaoh Brown and Troy Fumagalli to the practice squad.

To make room on their practice squad, the club released undrafted free agent guard Cordel Iwuagwu from TCU. Initially, the Texans were at 14 players on their 16-man practice squad heading into the Thursday opener in Kansas City. With three players incoming, the Texans had to make room, and Iwuagwu was the odd man out.
