Many have tried to take the claim, but none have ever been as successful as the Iowa Hawkeyes.
They are the true kings that sit atop the mountain named TEU. Iowa has earned the title of “Tight End University” due to its constant ability to produce NFL-caliber tight end after NFL-caliber tight end.
The very best in the NFL have taken note as well. Travis Kelce, arguably the best tight end in the history of the NFL, has spoken on what Iowa brings to the table and gave Iowa its title and crown.
“They produce tight ends like a mother******. I think right now, 100% that Iowa is TEU,” Kelce said.

Following the 2024 NFL draft, the Hawkeyes are currently up to seven tight ends in the NFL. This list consists of Erick All with the Cincinnati Bengals, Sam LaPorta, and Parker Hesse with the Detroit Lions, T.J. Hockenson with the Minnesota Vikings, Noah Fant with the Seattle Seahawks, George Kittle with the San Francisco 49ers, and Steven Stilianos with the Tennessee Titans.
All and Stilianos are the latest duo to continue the trend of making the jump to the NFL as they each get ready to head into their rookie seasons.
Iowa is not nearly done producing tight ends yet, either. Up next is Luke Lachey, who has all the potential in the world and is a trendy pick to skyrocket up draft boards this season as he returns to full health and is set to be a primary target in the Hawkeyes’ new offense.
