The Washington Redsknis might finish the season with a dud after an electric breakout campaign from rookie wideout Terry McLaurin.
McLaurin suffered a concussion last week and remains in protocol, something interim head coach Bill Callahan confirmed Thursday.
It’s wildly unfortunate given the short and long-term perspective. McLaurin just had another good game in the loss to the New York Giants, catching seven passes for 86 yards.
That big showing bumped the rookie to 919 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, further cementing him as one of the biggest breakouts of the year.
It’d be a shame for McLaurin to miss his shot at 1,000 during the season finale against Dallas. But with Thursday another day in protocol, it inches closer to looking like all involved will favor the long-term outlook instead of numbers.
