Texas Tech Red Raiders guard Terrence Shannon Jr. on Wednesday announced that he will withdraw from the NBA draft and return to school for his junior season.
Shannon was named to the All-Big 12 third team after averaging 12.9 points, four rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game last season. He produced 20 or more points in five games and scored in double figures in 22 of his 28 games played.
The announcement by Shannon came just hours before the early entry deadline on Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. EST. He was among the final key underclassmen yet to make a final decision on the draft with a few still to announce their intentions.

Shannon was among the prospects to participate in the NBA draft combine last month in Chicago. He was most commonly projected to be a mid-to-late second-round pick and likely wanted to return to school to improve his draft stock for next year.
Prospects that test the NBA waters can receive feedback from teams and obtain a projected draft range. He will now have the opportunity to use the feedback from teams and improve his game in order to be better prepared for the process in the future.
