Terrance Mann’s unenthusiastic welcome for James Harden on the Clippers isn’t a big deal

Things are probably fine between these two. This is just a weird moment.

For months now, the Clippers and the 76ers have been holding trade discussions about a James Harden swap.

Right in the middle of all that was Terance Mann. The question was whether the Clippers should include him in a Harden deal or not. It was debated everywhere — including here.

Ultimately, the Clippers held on to their guy. The Harden trade officially went down on Tuesday and Mann wasn’t included in the deal.

You’d think that Mann might be thrilled with that result. He doesn’t have to switch teams — he can just stay right where he is and play with four future Hall of Fame players.

But, for whatever reason, Mann didn’t seem too thrilled when Harden came into the 76ers locker room.

Russell Westbrook was excited to greet Harden when he walked in, but Mann barely looked up from his phone.

That’s a bit strange. It’s a weird moment that probably looks more awkward than it is.

Mann seems to be excited about the Clippers moving forward. In an interview with Sportskeeda’s Mark Medina he said he was surprised he was still a Clipper but still seemed happy to be there.

“I’m shocked, but I’m here. It’s dope,” Mann said. “I was just shocked. Everybody has been talking about it. But I didn’t know it was going to happen, right then and there.”

That’s understandable. Things probably get a bit tense when you’re on the trading block. That’s a story most of us will never know, though.

Regardless, I’d probably just write this off as a weird moment that we all just got to witness. There’s nothing to see here. At least until there actually is.
