The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team debuted in the 1908-09 season.
The Vols have been to the Elite Eight one time in 2010. Tennessee advanced to the Sweet 16 in 1967, 1981, 2000, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2019.
Tennessee has played in the NCAA Tournament 22 times in its history (1967, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1989, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2018, 2019).
The Vols have appeared in the round of 32 sixteen times (1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1999, 2000, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2019).
