No. 9 Tennessee (2-0) will host Kent State (0-2) Saturday in Week 3 of the 2024 college football season.
Kickoff between the Vols and Golden Flashes is slated for 7:45 p.m. EDT. SEC Network will televise the contest.
Saturday will mark the sixth time Tennessee will compete on Sept. 14. The Vols have a record of 2-1-2 on the field in games previously played on this date. Tennessee, however, had to vacate its, 45-0, victory over Chattanooga in 2019 due to NCAA sanctions. The 2019 contest was the last time Tennessee played on Sept. 14.
The Vols first played on Sept. 14 in 1968. Tennessee and Georgia tied, 17-17.
The Vols have played UCLA two times on this date. Tennessee and the Bruins played to a, 26-26, tie in 1985. The Vols won in 1991, defeating UCLA, 30-16.
Tennessee lost to Oregon, 59-14, on Sept. 14, 2013.
