The Tennessee Titans failed to secure the AFC South in Week 16, a feat they have not accomplished since 2008, after falling to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, 40-14.
Defensively, the two-tone blue struggled to generate pressure on Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. The lack of a pass-rush in Tennessee is alarming and could lead to an early exit in the playoffs.
However, one star shone brightly on defense on a frigid night in Wisconsin.
Inside linebacker, David Long Jr., led the team with nine tackles, including one for a loss. Long was a heat-seeking missile, but his energy was not enough to thaw out his teammates who, at times, seemed lost out on the frozen tundra.
With Long’s abilities on full display, general manager Jon Robinson has to be mulling the importance of re-signing injured linebacker Jayon Brown. If it’s me, I’m making the transition to Long — who is a better run defender, anyway — and keeping an elite offense in tact.
