Tennessee Titans’ Taylor Lewan reacts to release of Delanie Walker

Taylor Lewan reacted to the release of Delanie Walker.

While it was the right move, there is no easy way to say goodbye to Delanie Walker, who was a staple on the Tennessee Titans for the last seven years and helped carry the franchise out of some of its darkest days.

Walker was cut by the Titans on Friday in order to save $6.4 million for this offseason, and as expected the veteran handled it with grace and dignity in a statement released shortly after the move was made official.

Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan reacted to the news via Twitter.

After creating so many great memories as a Titan, letting Walker go hits fans right in the feels; however, it was a move that had to be made.

Walker, who is about to turn 36 and was due $8 million this upcoming season, only played in eight games the past two years because of injury.

His 2020 salary was just too much to pay with the Titans having so many players to re-sign and possibly sign in free agency. The decision was also made easier by the emergence of Jonnu Smith in 2019.

But Walker will not soon be forgotten. He’ll go down as one of the true greats to ever suit up for the Titans and should be a lock to make the Titans Ring of Honor at some point down the road.
