Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan continues to be brought along slowly as he returns from a torn ACL suffered last season.
Lewan has yet to fully participate as the Titans continue to ramp him up. He has taken part in jog-throughs and is making progress, but has yet to have any team reps, according to head coach Mike Vrabel.
While there was some concern that Lewan might not be ready for the start of the season, the first good sign was that he avoided the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list at the start of training camp.
Lewan says he can’t wait to be a full-go in practices and doesn’t think being ready for the first game of the season will be a problem.
.@TaylorLewan77 said he’s feeling good. Can’t wait to return to full go in practices. Said Week 1 isn’t going to be a problem. @Titans

After missing so much time, Lewan says he has “a newfound appreciation for the game” and “definitely” feels like his old self again.

On an interesting side note: Lewan praised offensive line coach Keith Carter, but also admitted that he and Carter didn’t get off to a great start.
#Titans' Lewan: Says his relationship with Keith Carter has gotten much better. Initially, there was some resistance from Lewan, he acknowledges. But now says Carter was right about a lot of things.

Despite Lewan missing the last 11 games of the 2020 campaign, the Titans still managed to pave the way for Derrick Henry’s 2,000-yard season, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill was only sacked 25 times.
With Lewan back in the mix, the Titans’ group upfront stands to be even better than it was one season ago.
