Tennessee Titans go DL, OT in CBS Sports 2-round mock draft

The Titans address the trenches in this CBS Sports two-round mock draft.

After trading away Jurrell Casey to the Denver Broncos this offseason, the Tennessee Titans could look to add a defensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The only signing the Titans have made along the defensive front since then is Jack Crawford, who offers versatility as both an end and tackle, but is also a career backup.

To address their need on the defensive line, CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso has the Titans taking Oklahoma’s Neville Gallimore in the first round of his two-round mock draft.

“Gallimore is an instant replacement for Jurrell Casey as an interior disruptor for the Titans.”

The 6-foot-2, 304-pound lineman has been mocked all over the place this offseason. Most mocks have had him going in the second round, so Trapasso making him a first-round selection is definitely a deviation from the norm.

In the second round, Trapasso pegs offensive tackle Lucas Niang to Tennessee. He believes the TCU product could move into a starting role at right tackle immediately.

“Niang is the instant starter at right tackle in the Titans run-based offense. He has awesome athleticism despite his large frame.”

Niang is an interesting prospect for sure, and if it wasn’t for his suffering a torn labrum that limited him to just seven games last season, he might be higher up on draft boards.

The only issue with Trapasso naming Niang the starter right away should Tennessee draft him is that the team re-signed Dennis Kelly to play that role.

Sure, Kelly could eventually be usurped by Niang, but that’s not a bet I’d be willing to make for this season.
