Tennessee target, 5-star OT Amarius Mims announces commitment date

Tennessee target, 5-star OT Amarius Mims announces commitment date.

Tennessee has been involved in 5-star offensive lineman Amarius Mims’ recruitment for most of the 2021 recruiting cycle, and the Vols could find out if they will land the 6-foot-7, 315-pound prospect in the middle of August.

Mims will commit on August 15. He will provide to his future team an overpowering and athletic offensive tackle with the size to contribute immediately at the college level.

Mims is the nation’s No. 6 prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle in his class and the top-ranked player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite.

If Mims commits to Tennessee, he will provide Jeremy Pruitt with his highest-ranked prospect to commit during his tenure as the Vols’ head coach.

Programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Auburn and others are right in the thick of Mims’ recruitment. Offensive line coach Will Friend is Mims’ primary recruiter for the Vols.
