KaTron Evans signed with Tennessee during the early signing period in December.
The 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive lineman is from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.
Evans announced Wednesday the University of Tennessee has released him from his national letter of intent.
“I’ve been let out of my NLI from the University of Tennessee,” Evans said on Twitter. “My recruitment is 100% open and no interviews, thank you.”

Evans committed to the Vols on May 9, 2020 over Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Florida.
Tennessee had a head coaching change during the offseason following the 2020 campaign. Josh Heupel was hired as the Vols’ head coach on Jan. 27, replacing Jeremy Pruitt.
