Tennessee releases Dylan Brooks from national letter of intent

Dylan Brooks signed with Tennessee during the early signing period in December.

Brooks was released from his national letter of intent Friday by Tennessee.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound outside linebacker signed to play for Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee. Pruitt was relieved of his head coaching duties on Jan. 18.

The Vols hired Josh Heupel to replace Pruitt on Jan. 27.

Brooks is able to transfer to any school after being released from his signed national letter of intent.

He is from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama.
