Although it has not even kicked off yet, the 2020 college football season is already one unlike any other.
With the Big 10 and Pac-12 suspending their seasons, and the other three Power Five conferences resorting to conference-only schedules, bowl season will certainly be impacted in a big way.
247Sports gave its bowl predictions for the 2020 season, trying to navigate through a slate of games that typically includes an array of Big 10 and Pac-12 teams.
The Vols were predicted to land in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma State, typically a matchup between Big 12 and Pac-12 programs in San Antonio, Texas.
“The Alamo Bowl has never hosted a team from the Southeastern Conference, but that could change to fill a slot with a quality program,” wrote Brad Crawford.
Assuming the college football season proceeds as scheduled with no stoppages, bowl season will look quite different in December, bringing teams to destinations they would have never been to if it were not for the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has had on the sports world.
