Tennessee offers Valdosta wide receiver Javonte Sherman

Tennessee offers Valdosta wide receiver Javonte Sherman.

Tennessee has dipped into southern Georgia to extend a scholarship offer towards 2021 wide receiver prospect Javonte Sherman of Valdosta High School.

Sherman is a junior at Valdosta, but does not yet hold a star rating on 247Sports. Tennessee is the first SEC program to offer the 6-foot-1, 170-pound receiver, joining programs such as UCF, Akron, Appalachian State and Cincinnati.

Valdosta High School is a national high school football power, and recently named Rush Propst as its head coach. Propst had previously been at Colquitt County, and is Jeremy Pruitt’s former boss from his time at Hoover High School in Alabama.

UT typically has a good relationship with any Propst-coached program.

The Vols currently have ten players committed to the 2021 recruiting class, with two wide receivers included.
