Tennessee has ventured up to Rhode Island in an attempt to reel in 2021 defensive end Jason Onye with a scholarship offer.

Onye is a 3-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite, and listed as the No. 28 weak-side defensive end in the country. With a commanding 6-foot-5, 245-pound frame, not many SEC schools have taken a hard look at the junior from Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick.
Vanderbilt and Kentucky are the only other SEC offers on Onye’s list at the moment. Although programs closer to his hometown have been involved for quite some time, such as Penn State, Michigan, Syracuse and Notre Dame.
Arizona is heavily in the running, as well.
